The Helping Hands Community Centre would not be what it is without the support of its team of volunteers. Our successful community helper program has successfully developed and grown from strength to strength.
The reasons to volunteer are as diverse as the volunteers themselves, whether it is to make a difference, gain skills and experience, meet new people or improve health and well-being. It also enriches our society. Not only is volunteering important because it helps to better your community, it also helps to better you as an individual. Volunteering is a free way to feel good about yourself and is a rewarding and challenging experience. Volunteering helps you gain skills that improve your employment opportunities.
Many of the volunteers at the Helping Hands Centre have moved directly into employment or further education.
