Easter Fayre Raffle Winners Announced

We are pleased to announce that the Easter Fayre raffle has been drawn and the prize winners have all been notified.  Thank you to everybody who bought a ticket or helped to provide the prizes.  The winners are as follows.

1st Prize = Family Ticket to the Doncaster Rovers -v- Bradford City Match on 4th April was Won By = Josh Anderson aged 12 years old.  He will be taking his Dad and 3 of his friends along to watch the match.   Prize kindly donated by the Doncaster Rovers Community Foundation.

Is your Maths and English holding you back? Does reading out loud terrify you? Do you struggle with your kid’s school homework?

Maths and English Qualifications at the Edlington Hilltop Centre

Now there’s no need to worry. We’ll help you Power Up your Maths and English and problems like these will be a thing of the past.

What is Power Up?
Power Up is a new training programme for the workers of South Yorkshire designed to improve your maths and English skills.

Power Up offers you a positive learning environment with specialist resources to make learning relevant to you. The sessions are positive and classes are made up of small groups of people like you who want to boost their reading, writing and numbers skills. Because everyone is different, the training is flexible and will support the way you like to learn.

Improving your Maths and English means you can:

  • Get better with using numbers at work for everyday tasks
  • Improve your written, presentation and spoken communication skills
  • Increase your confidence by successfully learning new things
  • Help others with their maths and English, for example, children’s homework
  • Strengthen your CV and career prospects with maths and English qualifications

Who is eligible?
If you are aged 19+, currently employed (for eight hours or more) and/or volunteer in a business in Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster or Barnsley and surrounding areas, then you could be eligible for this free training.

Easter Fayre Success

The Community Volunteers would like to say a great big thank you to everybody who came along to the Hilltop Centre today to take part in the Easter Fayre.  There was face painting, stalls, cakes, buns, medieval re-enactments, raffles, helium balloons, music and lots of fun throughout the day, with £700 being raised.
