Get Online Week 2014 at the Edlington Hilltop Centre

Get Online Week #GOLW14 is the annual digital inclusion campaign run by Tinder Foundation, inspiring people to get online and do more with digital skills.

Hundreds of Get Online Week events take place across the country during October, from post offices to mosques, cafes to community centre’s, supermarkets to town halls challenging thousands of people to see what they could do online.

Here at the Edlington Hilltop Centre we are taking part in the event all week, and we have a great team of volunteer Digital Champions on hand to help members of the local community to start something special.

It doesn’t matter if you have never touched a computer, tablet or laptop before, or if you already know a little bit – You could be doing more of the things you want by doing them online.

For instance, you could be making free video calls to friends and family abroad, filling in an application form for your dream job, comparing prices for car insurance in seconds, following your hobbies, or getting ideas for healthy versions of your favourite recipes.

On Thursday 16th October, we are also running a special open day between 10am and 3pm, with stalls from groups and partners from all across Doncaster focusing on Heart Health and Healthy Living.  We will be encouraging everyone to try our FREE courses “Staying Healthy with NHS Choices” and “Using GP Services Online” and taking part in our Community Health Survey.

Whatever you want to do, our friendly volunteers are on hand to show you how -for FREE.

It’s quick, it’s easier than you think, and ANYONE can do it.  Join the thousands of others getting online for Get Online Week, by coming along to our event, all week at the Edlington Hilltop Centre.
