Rainbows, Brownies & Guides

Girlguiding is the leading charity for girls and young women in the UK. Thanks to the dedication and support of 100,000 amazing volunteers, we are active in every part of the UK, giving girls and young women a space where they can be themselves, have fun, build brilliant friendships, gain valuable life skills and make a positive difference to their lives and their communities. We build girls’ confidence and raise their aspirations. We give them the chance to discover their full potential and encourage them to be a powerful force for good.

We meet here at the Centre every Wednesday at the following times.

Rainbows (5 to 7yrs) 5.30pm to 6.30pm
Brownies (7 to 10yrs) 5.30pm to 7.00pm
Guides (10yrs plus) 7.00pm to 8.30pm

For more information please contact Diane Betts on 01709 867778 or the Centre 01709 863268.

Edlington Local History Group

We are very proud to announce that the Edlington Local History Group has now been formed at the Hilltop Centre, and we are extending a warm invitation for people to come along and get involved in the group.

When you come along to the group you will be researching the vibrant history of Edlington and the surrounding district.  There are hundreds of topics to be researched so there is bound to be something you will enjoy.

We will also be creating the very first digital archive for our area which will enable everybody with internet access to get online and study local history.  Keep a look out for more information as it becomes available.

Craft Corner Club

Every Monday afternoon between 10:30am and 12pm is our Craft Corner Club.  Each week our members try their hand at various crafts, which all come in handy around the home.  This has included quiltmaking, knitting, sewing, card making, crouchuring and origami.

Everybody is welcome along and you don’t have to be an expert to join in.  All of our regulars have picked up their skills from family and freinds down the generations, so this really is a great club to join if you want to learn something new and unique.

Each session is just £1.00 with free Tea or Coffee.  Give us a call on 01709 863268 for more information or call along on a Monday afternoon for a try out.

Knit & Natter

Why not come along and make some new friends as everybody is welcome!  We meet up every Friday morning between 9:00am and 11:30am.

Whether you just want to improve your knitting skills or simply start from scratch, our friendly group of regulars will be on hand to help you out.  We have a comfortable environment where you can make something nice for yourself or take part in making items for one of the many appeals we support in the community and all while enjoying good conversation over a brew.

If you are looking for a new circle of friends and some company over the Winter months then our Knit & Natter Group is for you.  If you can’t get involved with the group just now you could always make a donation of wool or knitting equipment which would be of great help.

We look forward to seeing you soon! Call us for more information on 01709 863268.
