Move and Inspire Me Launch – Dancefit Light & Dancefit Classes

Local Charity “Move and Inspire Me” recently shot to fame on BBC Look North when they were drafted in to help the Tea Party “Silver Dancers” at Sir Thomas Wharton Community College surprise students with a special flash dance to thank them for all the work they do.

“Move and Inspire Me” have been working hard with us to put on activities after school to encourage people from all across the community, to get healthy and active and they are pleased to invite everybody to attend a free launch evening for their new classes “Dancefit Light & Dancefit” on Friday 6th June at 6:30pm at Sir Thomas Wharton Community College on Tait Avenue.

The event will be FREE and you are welcome to come along with your friends and see what it’s all about, or bring along a sports water bottle and sweat towel and get involved with the classes.  Don’t forget to bring some flat comfortable shoes or dance sneakers. “Dancefit” is a blend of Zumba, FitSteps and Aerobics, combined with the optional use of light hand weights to add tone to your arms, waistline, abdomen, hips and thighs.  This is designed to build strength and to increase your metabolism.  You can get advice regarding the weight of dumbbells or Toning Sticks that you will need as well as where to get them inexpensively.

“Dancefit Light” is a lower impact class, suitable for all ages and abilities and those new to Dance Fitness Classes.  Taken at a slower pace light gives you more time to learn new moves, depending on the class needs.  All our teachers are fully qualified to offer classes to all age groups and are aware of the needs of older actives, particularly in regards to health related issues such as arthritis, high blood pressure and osteoporosis.  You can even join in from a chair or wheelchair.

Let’s all get healthy and active together while making new friends too.  You are guaranteed to have a fantastic time.  Visit to read more about classes that will be available at Sir Thomas Wharton Community College.
